Chief Accountant

Our client is a leading international logistics company with a strong global presence and operations spanning more than 220 countries worldwide.

They are currently seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to take ownership of the company’s accounting function and lead all accounting operations, working closely with the Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the company’s full accounting cycle and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations, financial reporting, and statutory reporting requirements.
Review and submit tax returns and ensure timely compliance with all tax obligations.
Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors, tax authorities, social security institutions, banks, and other regulatory bodies.
Monitor changes in accounting and tax legislation and ensure ongoing compliance.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Strengthen internal controls and drive continuous improvements across accounting processes and procedures.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in a senior accounting or accounting leadership role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
Previous experience managing and developing accounting teams.
Hands-on experience with accounting systems and electronic banking platforms; experience with Oracle would be considered an advantage.
Advanced computer skills, including MS Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Professional working proficiency in English.
